This is the game I'm currently working on, so obviously two things are true:
As I'm currently working on it, I can tell you this much, the development cycle has had some serious bumps. I've gained and lost motivation at a number of points, and the fact that I'm basically the only one working on this thing makes that a troublesome roadblock. This is the first project of mine where I'm making most of the assets, and when I don't want to work on making visual assets but really have to, I get frustrated with myself and get in my own way more. It's like having a bad team leader but the team is just me, and I'm not great at leading me. Then there's the fact that I now have a full-time job and other commitments to tend to as an adult man, and as someone with too many things I'm passionate about and want to work on. Current projections point to a 2026 release at the earliest.
If you play the demo, you may have noticed that there are no women NPCs. This is because I haven't made the NPC parts for my female base sprite, and this didn't occur to me until chapter 2 was nearing completion)
This story is set a long while after Sunset of the Elements, dealing with the aftermath the "Good Ending" of that game, and what has happened to Talachrann in that time that has left it nigh unrecognizible. Follow the stories of three groups of people with very different lives and goals, who don't yet know that their fates have become entwined. The balance of Talachrann is shifting, and its fate lies in their hands.
I release devlogs once per real life season. I'll leave the most recent one linked here.
